Build Emotional Competence and Social Togetherness
In this session, you will learn how to build your student’s emotional regulation through strengthening their emotional literacy and competence, impulse control and cultivating calmness. A variety of enriching literacy activities integrating them with popular books as well as group games to practice math concepts will be illustrated to advance student growth in self-regulation, problem-solving, social togetherness and social interaction skills. Participants will learn how to design and deliver diverse activities to enable students with significant and complex learning needs in early childhood and elementary settings to:
• Gain social-emotional competence
• Develop impulse control
• Work and play cooperatively with peers in small groups
• Demonstrate problem-solving and calming skills

Session level: Beginner
Session duration: 1-hour
