Virtual, Hybrid, or F2F - Establishing Multimodal Relationships with Students with Disabilities
In this interactive presentation, participants will become familiar with ways to deeply connect with students in virtual/hybrid/F2F environments. Participants will learn how simple tools (filters, backgrounds, etc), can be used to raise engagement and motivation in virtual settings. We will discuss the power of movement, games, and humor to build relationships and foster virtual collaboration. We are striving for connection - not perfection!

Jennifer Courduff, Ph.D.
Jennifer Courduff, Ph.D. is a Professor in the School of Education at Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Courduff works in the M.Ed. program: Learning and Technology, a combined credential and master’s program, where she develops and teaches courses in online learning environments. Her research focus includes technology integration in special education and inclusive environments, assistive technology, and mobile learning.
Sarah Orton, M. Ed.
Sarah Orton is an elementary school teacher in Texas. She earned a Masters of Education Degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University, Chicago and holds an English Language Learner Certificate. Sarah teaches gifted and talented students in the Texas Public Schools and currently works as a Professional Developer. Her passion is in teaching reading and finding ways to integrate technology into the classroom.
